I was quite surprised to see a lone pelican on the Maumee in December. In the past, I have only ever seen them passing through this region in migrating groups in the sky.

There are a couple pelicans at the newly restored islands at the walbridge park area of the Maumee river. 100s of herons and Egrets now hanging out in the same place.
